As living and working from home has become the new normal, we as a society need to ensure that keeping on top of our mental health and wellbeing is a number one priority. During such an uncertain time, it’s expected that you will feel some form of anxiety or stress at some stage or another. 1. Keep moving daily 

Start each day with the mindset that moving your body is essential! 3. Limit you and your child's screen time

When being cooped up inside all day it is easy to resort to mindlessly scrolling through social media over and over again. This is what boredom does to us after all, we feel as if there is nothing to do! This is why it is important to limit your daily screen time, as this will help keep your mind feel active and strong. Additionally, when it comes to your children it is just as important to ensure they aren't spending hours upon hours on screens. Some tips for navigating children’s screen time include: 

  • Selecting high quality, educational activities, apps and programming
  • Watching screens together as a family 
  • Creating set limits and boundaries on usage 

4. Journal daily to reflect and work on personal goals

Journaling is a great exercise and means to pursue and work on positive mental health and well being. Make it a goal to take time out of each day, whether when you wake up in the morning or before you go to sleep, to write down your current thoughts, experiences and feelings. You can also include tangible goals and objectives, or accomplishments you are proud of, or things you are grateful for! The sky is your limit when it comes to what to write about!
